James Marriott serves as the director of musical arts and dean of chapel at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis. There, he conducts Seminary choirs, serves as the principal organist for services, and teaches worship courses.
He has served at congregations across the United States, including Trinity Lutheran Church, Lisle, Ill., St. John Lutheran Church and School, Rochester, Mich., and Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Jacksonville Beach, Fla.
Marriott holds a bachelor’s degree in parish music from Concordia University, Nebraska, Seward, Neb. With a Certification in Parish Music, and a master’s degree in church music from Concordia University Wisconsin, Mequon, Wis. He is a doctoral candidate in liturgical studies at Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary in Evanston, Ill.
He is a regular recitalist and lecturer and serves as the founder and artistic director for Evangelii, the touring youth choir of Trinity Lutheran Church in Lisle.
Marriott and his wife, Kristi, have two children, Joel and Kirstin.
